What is Kids For Christ (KFC)?
KFC is an after-school, faith-based program offered by First Lutheran Church for children ages 3 years (potty trained) through 5th grade. We meet Wednesdays during the school year from 4:00 - 5:15 pm. for Bible lessons, scripture memory and game-time. Parents and students are welcome to join us for a free family meal starting at 5:15pm, after check-out.
What do kids learn at KFC?
Kids will learn how we fit into God’s Big Story with weekly themed Bible lessons during large group time, small group and memory book time, game time and music. A free meal will be served starting at 5:15pm after check-out.

How do I register my child?

Is transportation provided?
Transportation is available from Prairie Elementary and Worthington Intermediate School for students in K–5th grade (with permission marked on the registration form). Pre-K students (ages 3–Pre-kindergarten) must be dropped off by a parent—no transportation is provided for this age group. You will need to pick your children up at church and are welcome to enjoy the free dinner with your children.

What happens before kids are picked up by the bus?
Students at Prairie Elementary will go to the school cafeteria after school. Intermediate School students will be bussed to Prairie Elementary. Students will be supervised by KFC volunteers, be given a snack, and be allowed to play or do homework while we wait for the bus

*Bus rules are enforced and expected to be followed.
Any other information I should know?
There is no KFC when the Worthington School District does not have school or evening activities.
If your child is not able to attend please send us a message or call so we are not wondering where your children are.
KFC runs from the end of September up until the week of Lent. This year it is September 24, 2025 - March 25, 2026
What is the the cost?
There is no charge. If desired there is a donation for the meal or food items from a donation board that may be brought in to support the program.
What is the check-in/check-out process?
- Students are checked in at Prairie Elementary starting at 3:00pm
- Check-in at church begins at 4:00 pm. This is required for all drop-offs.
- Check-out: Starts at 5:15 pm.
- Only authorized adults may check out students.
- If your child is walking home, you must have permission noted on the registration form.
- All children must be picked up or leave by 5:45 pm.
